Her voice strong, the 90-year-old woman walked with a cane to the witness stand, where she described a harrowing rape that occurred last year in her own home.
The woman, who was 89 at the time, said Secore Joffee King repeatedly threatened to kill her during the ordeal in the Glen Park section of Gary.
“You wanna die? I’ll kill you,” she recalled King saying as he overpowered her and held scissors to her heart before he asked her for sex, then choked her until she couldn’t breathe or see. The woman managed to grab King’s privates and squeeze.
King, of Chicago, stole four frozen dinners and $7 from the woman’s home and brutally assaulted her, leaving her with internal injuries and an eight-day stay in the hospital.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
