A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after hitting another man in the head with an axe in a disagreement on Saturday night in Flen in eastern Sweden.
The heavily intoxicated man was arrested at 10.45pm on Saturday evening in Hälleforsnäs in Flen south-west of Stockholm.
The victim of the brutal axe attack sustained serious injuries, was taken to hospital and remained in care on Sunday morning.
"He hit with the sharp side so the victim was badly injured in the face, but he will survive," according to Lennart Ahlin at Södermanland police to the Dagens Nyheter (DN) daily.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
