A suicide bomber killed at least nine people outside a mosque in Damascus on Friday, dealing a further blow to Syria’s increasingly threadbare ceasefire plan.
Witnesses in the city’s central Midan district said a man in military uniform detonated an explosives vest as worshippers left the Zain al-Abideen mosque after Friday prayers.
The force of the explosion left body parts scattered across the tarmac. At least 28 people were wounded in the blast, according to state television.
