On the weekend her former husband remarried, Sameera Samreen allegedly slashed their 3-year-old son’s throat with a knife, then did the same to herself, DuPage County authorities said.
The youngster and his mother both survived their injuries, but the 28-year-old Addison woman now faces felony charges of aggravated battery to a child as a result of the March 31 attack, officials said Friday.
“Any crime against a child is serious, but this is very disturbing,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said Friday.
