EDMONTON — The Crown is seeking an 18-to-20-year prison term for an Edmonton-area man who repeatedly sexually abused children - including his own son and daughter - over 10 years.
However, his betrayed ex-wife wants a different kind of sentence, saying in her victim impact statement that he robbed the children of "their innocence" and "destroyed" their lives and she hopes he "rots in hell forever."
The sex offender's son also slammed his father in his victim impact statement, calling him a "sick, perverted man" and saying he was "never going to call him dad again."
The 41-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victims, has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual interference and inviting sexual touching, as well as charges for child pornography, incest, unlawful confinement, administering a stupefying drug, bestiality and using a whip in a sexual assault.
