Coyote head found outside student residence

Police found the severed head of a coyote outside student housing in St. John's, N.L., on Thursday night.

Memorial University spokesman David Sorensen said it appears to be a "prank gone awry" rather than a threat against any individual student.

Cops found the head around 10 p.m. outside the university's Bowater student residence. Bowater's official mascot is a coyote.
