MAGNOLIA, TX (KTRK) -- A local mother has been charged with nearly killing her five-year-old son after police found the child covered in blood this morning.

A five-year-old was bleeding on the floor when authorities arrived. According to investigators, the child's throat was cut from one side to the other and he had multiple lacerations to the throat. Officials said he also had a possible crushed chest and severe head injury.
