Husband guilty of wife’s murder

When the screaming stopped, her mother lay dead in a pool of blood, the hunting knife still in her throat.

Her father stood next to her, blood on his hands.

"This is what you wanted, you did this, " Teodora Nemet, then 18, remembers her father saying in his final words to her.

"I hope you're happy."

Mihalj Nemet, 59, made a rare plea to first-degree murder Wednesday, admitting he stabbed his wife, Tinde, to death March 11, 2011 in her Fisher Ave. townhouse.

He stabbed her again and again in front of two of their children because she dared to defy him after years of enduring his controlling behaviour, verbal and physical abuse.

"You leave me, I kill you," he'd told her.
