SYDNEY — A 48-year-old man was in custody on Thursday after he allegedly kidnapped, handcuffed and repeatedly sexually assaulted a 29-year-old Japanese woman in Sydney.
Chief Inspector Rick Johnson told reporters the victim—who is a student living in Australia on a student visa—got to know the man after arriving in Australia in January.
She traveled around the country and met up with him again at Sydney airport on Tuesday.
The man took her to his home and it was then that her ordeal began.
