A California woman is facing multiple charges of fraud and grand larceny after allegedly faking terminal cancer to get donations for her "dream wedding."
Jessica Vega, 25, originally from Montgomery, N.Y., was arrested and indicted in Orange County, Calif., on Monday, New York's attorney general announced.
"By pretending to have a terminal illness, Vega inexcusably took advantage of the community's hearts and minds, and profited off their generosity,"
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said. "Our office will hold this individual accountable for fleecing the public through lies and deception."
