LAKE FOREST, Calif. (KTLA) -- An 80-year-old man killed himself in Lake Forest on Sunday after shooting his 68-year-old wife, police said.
Rita Cucinella called the Orange County Sheriff's Department about 8:25 a.m. on Sunday morning to say her husband, Larry Cucinella, had a gun and she feared for her safety.

Deputies discovered Larry Cucinella dead in the garage with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Rita Cucinella had been shot three times.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
