A retired police officer and his estranged wife who drove off a 100-metre cliff died in a suicide pact, an inquest has heard.
Paul Charles, 53, and his wife, Jacqueline, 48, were killed at Culver Down cliffs, Isle of Wight, in August.
Det Sgt Clare Crane told the hearing in Newport in the Isle of Wight that both of them had left suicide notes.
