A woman has been run over and killed by passing cars, moments after surviving a crash in the New South Wales Illawarra region.
Police say the 27-year old woman was driving with her mother in the passenger seat when she lost control of the car on the Southern Freeway at Mount Ousley, shortly before 6:00pm [AEST].
The car crashed through a side railing and into bushland but the women survived uninjured. But the driver then ran through the bush and back onto the freeway, where she was struck by several cars.
She suffered head injuries and died at the scene.
