“He hung out with the suspect a couple times,” Chaves said.
“He thought it was a joke at first.” The suspects struck his head with a silver handgun when he refused to hand over his phone, Chaves said the victim told police.
One of the suspects began choking the teen and the three dragged him into the living room at knife point, covering his head with a blanket they found in the house, he said.
The teen later told police he heard the suspects opening drawers as they searched for valuables, Chaves said.
A laptop, Android tablet, and Xbox 360 were missing, Chaves said. The teen told police the suspects took the blanket off his head and asked for cash, but the teen said he did not have any.
The suspects tied the teen’s hands behind his back with a phone cord, used a belt to fasten a blanket back around his head, and left, Chaves said.
The teen freed himself and called police.
