A Brooklyn judge who routinely handles sex abuse cases sentenced a sicko who raped a 78-year-old grandmother to 20 years in prison, calling his crime one of the worst she has ever heard.
"This is just an awful case. The facts are horrific, they're disturbing," Supreme Court Justice Patricia DiMango told Gerrard Pressley on Wednesday.
"To think that this woman, at this age, has to live with the nightmare of you in her home and what you did to her is sickening." Pressley, 34, pleaded guilty to breaking into the elderly woman’s East New York home in October 2010 and sexually assaulting her as she slept in a recliner in her living room.
"This animal broke into her home and changed her life forever," the victim's kin wrote in a letter read in court. "Whatever sentence he is given is nothing compared to the life sentence our mother, grandmother and wife was given that day."
