AICHI — A 46-year-old man has been arrested over the death of his elderly mother at their home in Tokai, Aichi Prefecture, police said Monday.
According to police, the man, who lived with his mother, called police to confess to her murder at around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Fuji TV reported. Police found the 72-year-old woman lying on a futon mattress, bleeding from a knife wound to her throat.
She was taken to hospital where she was confirmed dead a short time later. The man was arrested at the scene.
