Boy, 8, killed by falling television set at afterschool program as classmates tell: 'Nobody was really looking'

A small town in Massachusetts is in mourning following the tragic death of Colby O'Brien, who died on Thursday after a television set fell on him during an afterschool program. The eight-year-old was sitting with his twin sister at Elm Street Elementary School in Gardner waiting to watch Toy Story 2 when the incident occurred about 4pm. While it is not known how the television came to fall on him, one parent described the sets used at the school as 'big, old-fashioned boxy sets placed on tall metal carts'. One boy, Brandon Comley, who was in O'Brien's class and afterschool, told The Boston Globe no one knew how it happened.
