Man kills girlfriend, tries to make it look like suicide

A man tried to pass off the murder of his girlfriend as a suicide, but investigators in Florida didn't buy his tale. Carlos Cadavid, 23, admitted late Friday that he had shot the woman to death inside room 108 at the Grand Motel in Dania Beach. He had only known the woman for four days, he told Broward County Sheriff's detectives. Physical evidence in the room didn't add up to a suicide, the sheriff's department said in a statement. An autopsy performed by the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide. Cadavid will be charged with first-degree murder.
