Eight university students have died and about 10 were feared trapped after the roof of a building collapsed in a South Korean city during a welcoming ceremony for first year students, officials said.
Twenty other students were rescued and taken to hospitals, according to an official at the state-run National Emergency Management Agency.
Fifty-eight other students received minor injuries after the collapse, which came as about 1,000 students from Busan University of Foreign Studies gathered for an orientation event for first years at a resort in the south-eastern city of Gyeongju.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
