British expat, 56, killed by catamaran's propeller blades in horrific New Zealand diving accident

A British ex-pat has been killed after part of his face was sliced off in a boat’s propeller as he enjoyed a diving trip with friends. Friends of Bruce Porter watched on in horror as he became caught up in blades at the rear of a catamaran they had hired for the holiday. The 56 year-old was 20 miles east of Whangarei, off New Zealand’s north island, with members of the Western Underwater Dive Club who had chartered a 16m vessel for a three day trip.
