A Las Vegas man says he killed his landlord and ditched her body in the desert after she tried to evict him, according to documents.
Edward Kopp, 52, confessed Tuesday and was booked on a murder charge in the death of 53-year-old Sheila Linke, authorities said.
The last sign of Linke being alive came in the form of a text to her boss on Jan. 26 saying she planned to evict Kopp and his girlfriend Kathy Atteberry, with whom she shared the Las Vegas home, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
“I’m evicting my roommates and I might have to use vacation tomorrow because it is ugly,” she wrote.
They initially denied their involvement in Linke's disappearance but Kopp eventually admitted to killing her after police found human blood on his truck, said local station KVVU-TV.
Police released an arrest report Wednesday outlining how Kopp described events leading up to the murder.
