Police in Niigata City have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murdering his wife and his grandmother last November.
According to police, Yoshinao Kawasaki is charged with fatally stabbing his wife Rika, 27, and his grandmother Mitsumi Kawasaki, 69, at his grandmother’s house and then setting the house on fire, NTV reported Thursday.
Police said Kawasaki had visited his grandmother with his wife and oldest daughter who suffered burns in the fire.
Police said Kawasaki has admitted to the charge but said he didn’t remember anything about the fire.
