Manhunt underway for person who shot dead beloved Alexandria, Va., music teacher in broad daylight

Police have launched a manhunt for a possible serial killer after a beloved music teacher and her caretaker were shot in broad daylight in the usually quiet city of Alexandria, Virginia earlier this week. Piano instructor Ruthanne Lodato, 59, was killed Thursday after she opened the door of her home to a balding stranger around 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Police say the man also shot the caregiver as the two of them answered the door to Lodato's home. Police said that the unidentified caregiver - also a woman - is expected to survive her injuries. They are waiting to question her on the identity of the man, WJLA reports.
