Sudanese woman, 27, who is a doctor and eight months PREGNANT to be flogged to death for the 'crime' of marrying a Christian man

A Sudanese court gave a 27-year-old woman who is eight-months pregnant with her second child, until Thursday to abandon her newly adopted Christian faith and return to Islam or face a death sentence. Mariam Yahya Ibrahim was charged with apostasy as well as adultery for marrying a Christian man, something prohibited for Muslim women to do and which makes the marriage void. The final ruling will be announced on later today. Ibrahim's case was the first of its kind to be heard in Sudan.

At least 15 dead after stampede at soccer stadium in Congo

KINSHASA, Congo (AP) — A stampede at a soccer stadium in Congo’s capital on Sunday killed at least 15 people and injured more than a dozen, government officials said. The stampede at the Tata Raphael Stadium in Kinshasa happened toward the end of a match between two popular Congolese teams, AS Vita Club and TP Mazembe, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry read on national television late Sunday. At least 21 people were injured during the melee, said Gov. Andre Kimbuta, who has set up a commission to investigate the incident.

Man admits to killing, dismembering body of New Orleans stripper

A sex offender admitted to killing a Louisiana stripper and chopping up her corpse with his girlfriend before dumping the woman’s body near the shore, police said. The victim of an attempted Bronx carjacking went berserk Friday, chasing down the thieves and shooting them dead, cops said. As many as 300 killed in attack on Nigerian town

LAGOS, Nigeria — Islamic militants killed many people in an attack on a border town in Nigeria's remote northeast, a state government official said Thursday. Shops and homes were set ablaze and razed in the attack Monday night on Gamboru Ngala, on Nigeria's border with Cameroon, Borno state information commissioner Mohammed Bulama told The Associated Press by telephone. As many as 300 people were killed in the attack, according to local newspapers. An adult fetish model was busted on animal cruelty charges Wednesday for making a series of disturbing barnyard porn videos that included killing and torturing chickens and rabbits, Florida authorities said.
