During the seventh day of Julie Schenecker's trial in Hillsborough County Court, two doctors said the 53-year-old former military wife had a plan to kill her children, and cited her journal writings that detailed the plan as evidence. She is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Calyx, her 16-year-old daughter and Beau, her 13-year-old son. The teens were shot to death while her now ex-Army officer husband was on a 10-day deployment to the Middle East. On Wednesday, Dr. Randy Otto, a mental health expert called by the prosecution, told the jury Schenecker told him that she tried to manipulate Calyx's mouth into a smile after she shot her children. She also covered both the teens' bodies with blankets and kissed them, Otto said.

A teenager murdered an acquaintance with a kitchen knife in front of a toddler after saying that rap music made him 'want to stab somebody', a court heard. The 16-year-old, who can not be named for legal reasons, is accused of launching an unprovoked attack on Fico Dougan, 17. The fatal stab wound was inflicted with such force that it entered through his chest, passed through a chest bone and emerged from his back, the Old Bailey heard yesterday. Fico died of a stab wound to the heart soon after the attack on September 25 last year, which took place in front of a two-year-year girl at a house in Croydon, south London, the court was told. The accused teenager's defence barrister argues the killing was triggered by post-traumatic stress disorder following the death of his much-loved brother.

Martin Hicks, prosecuting, told the court that the alleged murderer and Fico knew each other but 'there was no known hostility'. The pair had both been at the house of a 19-year-old woman on the afternoon of the killing, and she, the defendant, and Fico's girlfriend Montana Riley were watching television with the woman's two-year-old sister. Mr Hicks said: 'The defendant was listening to music on his headphones. He was heard to say words to the effect of, "When I listen to rap music I want to stab somebody".’ Soon after, Fico tapped at the window and was let into the house by Miss Riley and joined the group watching TV, the jury was told. Fewer than ten minutes later, the defendant rose from his seat and walking to the kitchen with what Miss Riley described as 'a vague stare'. Mr Hicks told the court: 'He burst back into the room and he was holding a kitchen knife. Without any warning and with no good reason he proceeded to attack Fico.' The court heard the defendant remained completely silent as he tried to stab Fico at least six times while Miss Riley frantically attempted to stop him.

Woman 'hacks grown-up disabled daughter to death and burns her body on the barbecue'

A teacher has been accused of hacking her disabled daughter to death and then burning her body on a barbecue. Wheelchair-bound Magdalena Nunyango Amunyoko, who was born with a condition that restricted her body functions, was allegedly murdered at the home she shared with her mother in the town of Ongwediva, in northern Namibia. The charred remains of the 26-year-old’s badly burnt body were discovered by her brother on Saturday morning.

A small Canadian town was terrorized Friday by a crazed gunman who is believed to have shot dead a priest inside a church before going on a rampage before he was gunned down by police. John Quadros, 55, of St Paul, Alberta, was killed by Royal Canadian Mounted Police after he is said by police to have likely killed Father Gilbert Dasna and then going on a high speed chase through the center of town that culminated in a crash derby-like shootout, sources said. Dasna, 32, was shot more than once on the third anniversary of his arrival from Cameroon while inside his rectory, police told the CBC, they do not believe the murder was a random act of violence.

The mayhem began just before 6.00 p.m. as the town of about 5,400 just over 120 miles east of Edmonton was rocked by the sound of gunfire. Officers heard shots just outside their station and ran out in pursuit of a black pickup truck being driven by Quadros. Quadros is said by police to have sped straight for the small town’s central business district and rammed at least one squad car while firing shots at police as he went. The force of the impact was so great that car parts were scattered across at least half a block. ‘I've seen movie scenes not as horrific as this. There's bits of pieces of vehicle all over the street a half a block away,’ Chief Supt. Randy McInnes told the CBC.

The victims, aged 32 and 29 and named locally as David and Hayley Stringer, were found early yesterday at their house in Walsall in the West Midlands, while their three daughters slept downstairs. POMONA, Calif. — A 28-year-old man shot and killed three members of a Southern California family at the home where they all lived before turning the gun on himself, authorities said Friday. The four bodies were found late Thursday inside the single-story house in a residential area of Pomona, police Lt. Michael Keltner said at a morning news conference. The suspect lived at the home, and the murder-suicide appears to have stemmed from a domestic situation, Keltner said. A woman in her 50s and her 24-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son were killed in their respective bedrooms, he said. The suspect was found at the foot of the younger woman’s bed. Keltner said she might have been his girlfriend. There were no signs of a struggle.

Robin Penton attempted suicide March 10 after shooting dead his wife Collen Penton and their three dogs at their Huntsville home. The exotic bird's neck was snapped. In a suicide note written after killing Colleen, Penton wrote that he killed the dogs (a pointer, chihuahua and Rottweiler) because his wife didn't train them. LAGOS, Nigeria — Islamic militants killed many people in an attack on a border town in Nigeria's remote northeast, a state government official said Thursday. Texas shooting leaves married couple dead, two children hospitalized for gunshot wounds

Authorities are investigating a possible murder-suicide that left a married Texas couple dead and their two children suffering gunshot wounds early Monday morning. The couple's brave 15-year-old daughter managed to escape the Fort Bend home and call 911 around 6 a.m., alerting deputies to her 11-year-old brother who was left seriously injured inside, according to the sheriff's office. Tragically, deputies also reported finding the bodies of the children's parents inside the home. The parents were identified as Karim Kamdar, 46, and his wife, Nikhat Kamdar, 37, and are suspected victims of a domestic dispute. Colorado boy, 13, 'shot his father in the head and tried to conceal murder by calling him in sick to work for six days'

A 13-year-old boy in a small Colorado town is accused of shooting his father twice in the head and trying to hide the killing for days by telling the man's employer his father was sick. The boy was arrested Monday after a tip from the unidentified employer led deputies to check on the family.
