Quote Unquote: Giacomo Leopardi

"Real misanthropes are not found in solitude, but in the world; since it is experience of life, and not philosophy, which produces real hatred of mankind."

Quote Unquote: Edward T. Hall

Crowding, disrupts important social functions and so leads to disorganization and ultimately to population collapse or large scale die-off.

Quote Unquote: Francis Bacon

My painting is not violent, it’s life that is violent. Even within the most beautiful landscape, in the trees, under the leaves, the insects are eating each other; violence is a part of life. We are born with a scream; we come into life with a scream and maybe love is a mosquito net between the fear of living and the fear of death.

Quote Unquote: Christopher Marlowe

Faust: "Did not my conjuring raise thee? Speak."

Mephostophilis: "That was the case, but yet per accidens:
For when we hear on rack the name of God, abjure the scriptures and his savior Christ. We fly in hope to get his glorious soul. Nor will we come unless he use such means, whereby he is in danger to be damn'd. Therefore the shortest cut for conjuring is stoutly to abjure all godliness and pray devoutly to the prince of hell."
(Christopher Marlowe, The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus c. 1594)

Quote Unquote: Howard Bloom

...the god who created our cosmos could't possibly be good. The universe was shot through with appaling threads - violence, slaughter, sickness and pain. These evils were the creator's handiwork. Surely he must be some perversely sadistic force, one who should be banished from influence over the minds of men.

Quote Unquote: Krishnamurti

Do we discover something new by looking for it? Something new is not necessarily the opposite of something old, it is not the opposite of that what is. If something new is being projected out of something old, it is nothing more than a somewhat enhanced continuation of the old. Recognition always leans on the past, everything recognizable is never new. Searching for something comes forth from torments of the present. That is why when we are searching for something, it is already known to us. You search for consolation, and you will probably find it, but that too will pass, because the urge to find something in itself is fleeting. Longing for something - for joy, for God, for anything - is always fleeting.

Quote Unquote: J.A.C

"The worst thing you can do is think that anybody anywhere REALLY gives a fuck about you."

Quote Unquote: Bela Lugosi

“In Hungary acting is a career for which one fits himself as earnestly and studiously as one studies for a degree in medicine, law or philosophy. In Hungary, acting is a profession.”

Quote Unquote: James D. Sass

My property is festooned with "NO TRESPASSING" signs. If someone is in my yard - I open my window and yell to them that they are trespassing and going to be shot. If I lived in suburbia it would be a "neighbor" - I would have to go out, shake their hand, and listen to boring bullshit about their stupid fucking car, their stupid fucking football team, their stupid fucking spouse, or their stupid fucking kids... No "neighbors"for me please thank you.

Quote Unquote: H.L. Mencken

Half the time of all medical men is wasted keeping life in human wrecks who have no more intelligible reason for hanging on than a cow has for giving milk.

Quote Unquote: Gustave Flaubert

I hate the crowd, the herd. It seems to me always atrociously stupid and vile... The sight of their vulgarities and of their very hats and overcoats, the things they said and the sound of their voices made me feel like vomiting and weeping all at once. Never since I have been in this world have I felt so suffocated by a disgust for mankind.
-Gustave Flaubert

Quote Unquote: Anton LaVey

I don't find popular pursuits distasteful per se, only the hysteria which accompanies them. Yet I also realize that without that very popularity, less unification of the herd would transpire, leading to chaos and loss of control. That is why I recognize a need for popular pursuits and would do nothing to discourage them. Just count me out.

-Anton LaVey, The Cloven Hoof

Quote Unqoute: Florence King

Insecurity breeds treachery: if you are kind to people who hate themselves, they will hate you as well. It does no good to try to help them because they never really change no matter how long they stay in therapy... Insecure people are dangerous and it is best to stay away from them... only a misanthrope can avoid being exsanguinated by their emotional demands.

-Florence King, With Charity Toward None

Quote Unquote: Ray Bradbury

The Wheel of Destiny

The day of man's set doom is come,
The altar's break, the idols fall;
The shattered oracles are dumb
And utters stillness ruleth all.

Across the great world's silent girth
The grass-grown cities rot and rust:
Still are the rulers of the earth-
Men and their worth sink back to dust.

Man fades without a trace to tell;
Where seas roar on the primal plain
The mindless, living, single cell
Begins the long, slow climb again.
-Robert E. Howard

The Flood (To All Evangelists)

Rise in your haughty pulpits;
Preach with a godly ire!
You turn my blood to venom;
You turn my soul to fire.
Lords of the fading darkness,
Nursing a crumbling race,
This is the bitter gauntlet
I hurl in your face:
That the day of your rule is over,
And the tribes begin to rise,
As a sleeping giant, stirring,
Opens his drowsy eyes.
Under the ice are gathering
Floods that were born in hell,
And the slow, great waves are coiling,
With the power to rebel.
You dance with a broken sceptre,
You squeak on a barren throne,
And your temples rise and topple
And crumble to shattered stone.
The day of light is coming,
But you would bide within the dark;
You seek to drag us backward-
Men of darkness, mark!
The day shall come of our fury
When we hurl all chains aside,
And the flood will beat you under
With the fury of its tide.
-Robert E. howard

Quote Unquote: Colin Wilson

There is a passage in Louis-Ferdinand Céline that describes the world as rotten with lies, rotten to the point of collapse and disintegration. I had only to look at the advertisements in the London tube, or the headlines of the daily paper, to see that it was obviously true. Lies, stupidity, weakness and mediocrity - a civilisation without ideals.

-Colin Wilson, The Occult

The Friend

A man of active and resilient mind outwears his friendships just as certainly as he outwears his love affairs, his politics and his epistemology. They become threadbare, shabby, pumped-up, irritating, depressing. They convert themselves from living realities into moribund artificialities, and stand in sinister opposition to freedom, self-respect and truth. It is as corrupting to preserve them after they have grown fly-blown and hollow as it is to keep up the forms of passion after passion itself is a corpse. A prudent man, remembering that life is short, gives an hour or two, now and then, to a critical examination of his friendships. He weighs them, edits them, tests the metal of them. A few he retains, perhaps with radical changes in their terms. But the majority he expunges from his minutes and tries to forget, as he tries to forget the cold and clammy loves of year before last.

-H.L. Mencken

The Bornless Ritual

I am He! The Bornless Spirit!

Having sight in feet; Strong, and the Immortal Fire!

I am He! The Truth!

I am He! Who Hate that Evil be wrought in the World!

I am He! That Lighteneth and Thundereth!

I am He, From whom is the Shower of the Life of Earth!
I am He, Whose Mouth ever Flameth!
I am He, The Begetter and Manifestor unto the Light!
I am He, The Grace of the Worlds!

'The Heart Girt with a Serpent' is My Name.

(An excerpt from the Bornless Ritual which is a paean of triumph and attainment to be used as the climax of the entire Ritual.)

Quote Unquote: Arthur Schopenhauer

Certain it is that work, worry, labor and trouble, form the lot of almost all men their whole life long. But if all wishes were fulfilled as soon as they arose, how would men occupy their lives? what would they do with their time? If the world were a paradise of luxury and ease, a land flowing with milk and honey, where every Jack obtained his Jill at once and without any difficulty, men would either die of boredom or hang themselves; or there would be wars, massacres, and murders; so that in the end mankind would inflict more suffering on itself than it has now to accept at the hands of nature.
