Seventh baby hit by deadly infection at hospital where three died

Another baby is fighting for life in a hospital unit where three infants have already died from a bacterial infection.

The child is the seventh to be diagnosed with pseudomonas at the Royal Maternity Hospital in Belfast in the past few weeks, and is said to be in a serious condition but responding well to treatment.

An urgent investigation is being carried out to identify the source of the bug, although experts say a conclusion is unlikely.
