A five-year-old girl is in hospital after her father accidentally severed both her feet with a lawn mower.
The child, from Forest Hill, Maryland, was flown by helicopter to Johns Hopkins Children's Center on Monday evening where doctors were unable to save her feet.
The devastating accident, considered most parents' worst nightmare, happened at about 6.30pm, when the girl's father was cutting the grass on the family's Kensington Farm property.
