A mother accused of trying to kill her three-month-old baby said she only did it because she thought her daughter was trying to kill her.
Anna Murphy, 35, from Tacoma, Washington, was arraigned yesterday on charges of second-degree child assault in Pierce County Superior Court. She pleaded not guilty.
According to reports, Murphy told the baby's father when he came home on Sunday that she had thrown the baby down on the ground.
He called 911 and told dispatchers she had deliberately dropped their daughter on the floor.
He immediately called 911 after seeing blood on and inside the baby's mouth.
When she was interviewed by officers, Murphy said her baby was trying to kill her so she threw her down in 'her first exorcism'.
She also insisted she was trying to save her from 'traveling to another dimension'.
