An Indianapolis man who pleaded guilty to the gruesome murders of his mother and grandparents will spend the rest of his life in jail.

Kenneth Allen Jr.was sentenced Friday, almost five years to the day the bodies were first discovered buried in concrete beneath the basement of the victim's home.

It was February 8th 2005 that the dismembered remains of 3 people were found in the basement of an eastside Indianapolis home at 1958 North Linwood Avenue. Police say Kenneth Allen Jr., stabbed his mom Sharon Allen, bludgeoned his grandfather Lee Bradley with a hammer, and choked his grandmother Betty Bradley with a plastic bag.

"I never met a person with a more evil mind, said Kenneth Allen's great uncle Ralph Bradley.”

Bradley's brother was killed by Allen. Outside of the Marion County courtroom where Allen was sentenced today, Bradley said he was relieved it's over.

"I hope that every night when he goes to sleep is the last thing he thinks about is the sacrifice his loving mother made as he stabbed her to death," he said.

Prosecutors say Allen's motive was money. A gambling addict, they say Allen wanted to get his hands on his grandparents $200-thousand dollars in savings.

Ron Bradley's father was killed by Allen. He is also Allen's uncle. "It's hard to look the devil in the eye and understand why he does what he does," he said.

Prosecutor's say Allen's childhood and a history of mental problems made it impossible to get the death penalty. So a plea agreement was worked out. Thirty-four year old Allen was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 130 years. Allen's 23 year old sister Kari who was a co-defendant in the case, pleaded guilty to three counts of conspiracy. She was Allen's "lookout" during the murders. She will be sentenced on March 12th. She faces up to 150 years in prison.
