DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- A 14-year-old girl is in stable condition after being accidentally shot in the stomach, Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office investigators said.
Investigator Darren Martin said the 14-year-old girl was in a home on Cavender Creek Road with her 14-year-old cousin when the cousin brought a gun into a room and attempted to show it off. The gun then accidentally discharged, Martin said.
The girl was shot in the stomach and was life-flighted Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. She is in stable condition.
Police do not plan to file charges.
