WINNIPEG - A 13-year-old boy was robbed of his clothing and other items and then stabbed in the back during a violent incident in Winnipeg on Monday afternoon.
Police said the victim was riding his bicycle with friends in an alley near Keewatin Street and Alexander Avenue when he was confronted by a male about 2 p.m.
The suspect physically assaulted and pushed the boy to the ground, and swiped several possessions, including the victim’s shoes, hat, shirt, jewelry and keys.
Police said the male then stabbed the boy in the upper body and fled.
The boy went to a nearby residence for help. He was taken to a Winnipeg hospital in stable condition.
One person was taken into custody but no charges had been laid by late Monday afternoon, police said.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
