Oxford woman shown her own rape on mobile phone

A judge has told an Oxford man he faces a long jail sentence after a woman discovered a mobile phone picture of herself being raped.

Mohammed Shahjahan, 27, of Slaymaker Close, was found guilty of rape and sexual assault.

Feizal Ali, 26, of Howard Street, was convicted of sexual assault.

Nicholas Jones, 26, of White Road, took the footage. He pleaded guilty to two sexual assault charges and voyeurism relating to the November 2009 attack.

'Incapable of consent'

Oxford Crown Court heard the woman only discovered she had been raped and sexually assaulted two weeks later when Jones showed her the mobile phone footage he had taken on the night.

She then told police about the attack, which happened at an east Oxford flat.

Neil Moore, prosecuting, told the jury the woman passed out after drinking three vodka and Red Bull cocktails and did not remember the assault.

She was "incapable of consent," he explained.

Lawyers for Shahjahan and Ali claimed the accusations were false and that the woman was motivated by a vendetta.

Judge Julian Hall described it as a "nasty case" and warned Shahjahan he faced a long prison term.

Shahjahan shouted: "The system is racist anyway," before being led away.

All three men were placed on the sex offenders register and remanded in custody for sentencing on 10 September.
